The Erskine College Athletic Training Department exists to provide the best available medical care to the student-athletes of Erskine College. In doing this, we will strive to exemplify and glorify Christ in all we do.

Services are provided by Certified Athletic Trainers, General and Internal Medicine Physicians, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Dentists, Optometrists, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Athletic Training Students.

Scott enters his second year at Erskine College.  He earned a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Erskine and an M.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion with an emphasis in Biomechanics from The University of Kentucky.  He also serves as the chair of the public relations committee for the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association. Scott is married to fellow Erskine alumnus, Tara, and resides in Belton, SC.

Prospective Athletic Training Students

 
Erskine College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), and houses an Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP).  Athletic Training Students are provided with many opportunities for hands-on experiences through Erskine College Athletics.  Students may also visit campus and spend a day along side our staff, covering Erskine College Athletic Events.  For more information on the ATEP please click on the link above, or

Athletic Training Center Information

Hours of Operation

     Monday-Friday

     12:30 PM-6:00 PM

*Treatments/taping for in-season practices   

scheduled outside of these hours will begin one hour before the training session.

*Treatments must begin within 30-minutes of the end of training sessions.

     *Therapeutic Modalities: Whirlpools (2), Thermal

       Modalities, Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound,

       BioCryo Compression System, Low Level Laser

     *Stationary Bikes

     *NK Flexion/Extension Table

     *Electromyography

     *Extensive rehabilitation tools and equipment

     *Traction Table


Visiting Team Information


Treatments and Taping
The Erskine Athletic Training Center will be available 2 hours before start time for all home contests.  If your team will be requiring the use of our facility, please contact us in advance of your trip so adequate preparations may be made concerning treatment times.  The following items are available for use by visiting teams traveling with an ATC:

     *Hydrocollator

     *Crushed Ice

     *Electrical Stimulation

     *Ultrasound

     *Low Level Laser Therapy

     *BioCryo Compression System

     *Stationary Bike

     *Slant board

     *Other rehab equipment as requested.


Teams Traveling Without a Certified Athletic Trainer

If your team will be traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer, we are happy to accommodate and treat any players needing services.  We ask that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance regarding these treatments, as well as send a treatment letter and needed supplies with your specific team. Please limit treatments to heat, ice, and taping.


On-Field Setup

Emergency Medical Service crews, provided by Abbeville County Emergency Management, are located within minutes of all Erskine College Athletic Facilities. 

The following Emergency Equipment will be available during competition:

     *Emergency Oxygen

     *AED

     *Cervical Collars and Spineboards

     *Vacuum Splints

     *Crutches

All visiting teams are provided with the following items on their sideline:

     *Water and Cups

     *Injury Ice, Ice Bags, Ice Wrap

     *Bio Hazard Container

     *First Aid Kit

     *Towels (basketball only)
