Erskine Women's Basketball | Wilson reaches career milestone in win over North Greenville

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (2-17, 1-12 CC) defeated North Greenville University (8-14, 3-10 CC) by a score of 71-66 for the Fleet's first conference win of the season at Belk Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Erskine was led by Albany Wilson, who reached the 1,000 career points milestone in the win, and posted her fourth double-double (23 points, 12 rebounds) of the season to guide the Fleet to a come-from-behind win on their home floor. Erskine trailed by as many as 12 at one stage in the fourth quarter but came roaring back, outscoring NGU 29 to 15 in the fourth quarter.

Also in double figures for the Fleet were Ahrianna Scott (14 points) and Janiya Adams (12 points), along with a career-high 13 points from Suniyah Rollins to help Erskine to its joint-highest scoring output in league play this season.

THE PLAYER
It was an unforgettable day for Erskine's senior leader, Albany Wilson, who crossed 1,000 career points late in the third quarter, as part of a 23 point, 12 rebound outburst to help the Fleet to a comeback win. Wilson also added four assists and five steals, while being an efficient 10-for-13 from the free throw line and seven of her twelve boards came on the offensive glass.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot 37% (25-68) from the field but just 15% (4-27) from the three-point line, but the Fleet were 71% (17-24) from the free throw line. Erskine forced 21 turnovers, while committing a season-low 10 themselves, which helped the Fleet have a decisive 20 to 7 advantage in points off turnovers. The Fleet also won the points in the paint battle, 34 to 28.

WHAT'S NEXT? 
Erskine goes on the road for a rematch with Southern Wesleyan University (5-17, 3-11 CC) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Warriors beat the Fleet in Due West, 82-71, back in early January.
