DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (1-7, 0-3 CC) was defeated by Southern Wesleyan University (3-10, 2-4 CC) by a score of 82-71 in the Fleet's first game of 2026 at Belk Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Fleet trailed by as many as 22 at one stage in the first half, but a fierce fourth-quarter rally brought Erskine back to well within striking distance. However, the Fleet were unable to get over the hump as the early deficit proved to be too much.

Erskine shot just 29% (23-80) from the field and 28% (5-18) from the three-point line, as well as just 53% (20-38) from the free throw line. The Fleet dominated the offensive glass, totaling 30 offensive rebounds in the game, but were only able to convert it into 13 second chance points.
