DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (1-3, 0-1 CC) was defeated by Emmanuel University (4-2, 2-1 CC) by a score of 63-52 at Belk Arena in the Fleet's conference opener on Wednesday evening.

Erskine jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 12-1 run to open the game, but Emmanuel battled back and turned the game around in the second and third quarters.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot just 25% (18-71) from the field and just 15% (4-26) from the three-point line, as well as just 63% (12-19) from the free throw line. The Fleet had a 20 to 10 advantage in offensive rebounds and won the turnover battle, 24 to 13, but could not score enough to keep up with the Lions.

Erskine has an extended layoff until its next game, a road trip to conference newcomer, Ferrum College (2-4, 0-1 CC) next Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m.
