HOW IT HAPPENED
The Fleet dominated the opening half, but five first-half saves from the Lions' goalkeeper kept the game scoreless at the break. Erskine continued to create a majority of the chances to begin the second half and were finally rewarded off a set piece.
Brodrick White lofted a free kick into the Emmanuel box and the ball fell to
Jorge Torres-Cortes who smashed it home for his second goal of the season to give Erskine the lead in the 52nd minute. Six minutes later, Marcos Martinez converted and doubled the Fleet's lead with 30 minutes remaining. However, the Lions flipped the script in the final third of the match, scoring three goals in quick succession to put Erskine behind, 3-2, with 20 minutes left. Kenny All-Hakazimana threatened the Lions goal a few minutes later but his shot was saved and the Fleet were unable to rescue an equalizer in the final minutes.
