ANDERSON, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet Bass Fishing program had two teams compete in the 2024 Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops last month, including a 3rd-place finish from the team of
Lane Clark and
Tallis Morrison, as well as freshmen duo
Luke McGuffin and
Rylan Green qualifying for the championship.
Clark and Morrison continued their high level of success for college fishing events in the last couple seasons. They finished in the top 5 for Anglers of the Year and also kept themselves in contention to win the 2024 national championship, finishing in third place out of 168 of the nations best college bass fishing teams, just two points off the champions of the three-day event.
McGuffin and Gren were both freshman last year and qualified for this event, which is quite the accomplishment.
"I can't wait to see what they can conquer the rest of their college fishing career. These guys are just getting started!" Head Coach Jason Williamson said. "Both of these teams represented Erskine phenomenally at the national championship and the entire year."
The nationally-ranked Flying Fleet now turn their attention to the 2024-25 season, which begins this weekend.
