GREENVILLE, S.C. – Katherine Thompson was named the Women's Track & Field Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Week for the week of February 5-12, 2024.
A senior from Woodruff, South Carolina, Thompson set a school record in the 800m with a time of 2:22.01 at the JDL Team Challenge (2/8).
Thompson finished second in the event, but claimed the best time in Conference Carolinas this season in the event. It's also a top-15 time in the region.
Thompson, along with a number of her teammates who reached the conference standard in their respective events, will compete in the 2024 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., on February 18-19.
