DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (3-9, 1-4 CC) defeated Warren Wilson College (0-13) by a score of 80-39 at Belk Arena on Tuesday evening.
The visiting Owls scored the first points of the night, but Erskine answered with a 14-0 run and never looked back for a convincing home win.
Albany Wilson led the Fleet offense with 13 points off the bench,
Shanece Mitchell added a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and four different Erskine players reached double figures in rebounds as the Fleet dominated on the interior all game.

THE PLAYER
Senior guard
Shanece Mitchell had a double-double for the second consecutive game, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding 3 steals. Of the 10 boards, 7 of them came on the offensive glass for Mitchell, leading the charge for a ruthless Fleet attack around the rim.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 37% (34-91) from the field, and 22% (6-27) from the three-point line, as well as 55% (6-11) from the free throw line. The Fleet did the work on the inside, totaling season-highs in points in the paint (54), second chance points (34), and offensive rebounds (29) in what was a dominant performance on their home floor.
WHAT'S NEXT?Â
Erskine returns to conference play and goes on the road this weekend to take on Southern Wesleyan University (4-10, 2-3 CC) on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Fleet and Warriors have had tightly contested battles in recent years, but Erskine hasn't beaten SWU since a 60-42 win in Central on the final day of the 2021 regular season.
