SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (3-4, 1-2 CC) defeated Converse University (1-8, 1-3 CC) by a score of 35-32 at the Tom & Tracy Hannah Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Fleet jumped out to an eight-point lead after the first quarter and used stifling defense to hold on for the road conference win.

THE TEAM
The Fleet held Converse to just 29% (15-52) from the field and 6% (1-18) from three-point range as well as forcing 31 Valkyries turnovers, which helped Erskine be +21 in points off turnovers.

WHAT'S NEXT? 
Erskine stays on the road for another conference bout, traveling to Chowan University (6-2, 3-1 CC) on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The Hawks won both meetings last season, but the Fleet held Chowan to just 48 points in their matchup in Due West in January.
