Erskine Women's Basketball | Fleet Can't Overcome Slow Start and Fall to Emmanuel

Box Score DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-4, 0-2 CC) faced off against Conference Carolinas foe Emmanuel College (1-4, 1-1 CC) at Belk Arena on Tuesday.  The Fleet suffered a slow start, falling into a 12-2 hole, just minutes into the game.  Erskine put together a number of small runs and played strong defense in the first half, despite having some key play makers on the bench with foul trouble.  The Fleet rallied to bring the game back into striking distance, finishing the half down 22-15.  In the second half the Fleet fought hard but could not overcome the Emmanuel lead and eventually fell 39-56.
 
THE PLAYER
Anzya Cook and Janelle Carter lead the Fleet in scoring with 12 points a piece.  Carter added 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot 13-53 (24.5%) from the floor and was 4-24 (16.7%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 9-11 (81.8%) from the foul line in the game.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet will face Chowan University in Murfeesboro on Friday, December 3rd at 5:00 PM.
