“Brian Haines was one of the most talented, dedicated, and committed soccer players I have ever coached. He gave everything he had for our Erskine team.”

“Every now and then, a player comes along that you just know is special and that you are lucky to coach. When that happens, you thank your lucky stars every day, or in Larissa’s case, you thank your lucky stars every time she hit the ball out of the park. Larissa Shannon was one of those ONCE IN A LIFETIME players whose impact on Erskine Softball can still be felt today.”

“I knew from the first moment I saw Porsha Morgan play in an open gym event that she was special; that she would have a great impact on our success. What I didn’t know was just how much she would impact my life. I count it as an honor to have coached Porsha. She embodied the true meaning of what it means to be a student-athlete. Her unwavering commitment in the classroom and on the court made it easy to love coaching her. I’m so thankful to bear witness to this moment and want to congratulate Porsha on her induction into the Erskine College Flying Fleet Hall of Fame.”

“As part of Erskine’s first recruiting class with the reinstatement of volleyball in 2008, Larz Chabra quickly established herself as a leader of the Flying Fleet. A four-year starter as the Fleet’s setter, Larz helped establish Erskine as a force in volleyball in Conference Carolinas. Larz ‘s play was all-conference worthy all four years. Her smiling face off the court and determined face on the court became her trademark. Larz helped put Erskine volleyball on the map and set the standard for the future team’s success. We are grateful to the impact Larz made on our volleyball team from the onset of the program, and she is highly deserving of becoming a member of the Flying Fleet Hall of Fame.”

Erskine College Athletic Director Mark Peeler

“Chas Anthony was a fierce competitor and always had a chip on his shoulder to prove that he was the best. He strived to be the best at everything he did; all he needed was to learn to relax and let his natural talent take over when faced with adversity. Chas also helped the Erskine baseball program become a nationally recognized name.”

“In 35 years of coaching I never had a finer all-around human being than Brandon Wright. He had an incredibly tireless work ethic which propelled him to become Erskine’s all-time leading scorer. Brandon never took a day or even a playoff in practice or games. He was an absolute joy to coach every day and even greater joy to watch play. He was the best pure standstill shooter I ever coached. Along with being a great player, Brandon was a great teammate, a great leader. He modeled everything at a high standard. It was an absolute blessing to get to coach Brandon Wright, and he is so deserving to be a member of the Flying Fleet Hall of Fame.”

“Erskine was blessed beyond measure when Calhoun became our Women’s Tennis Coach. He understood recruiting, hard work, and tennis, but never could I have imagined when we hired him in 2000 that he would lead our women’s tennis program to such heights.”
