Due West – The Erskine College Flying Fleet were defeated tonight by the Trojans of Mount Olive 71-55. The loss moves the Fleet to 12-12 overall and 11-7 in Conference Carolinas action.
The scoring for Erskine was pretty balanced for 4 quarters. The Fleet scored 14-14-14-13 in each respective quarter. Erskine was led by
Naomi Stuger with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Myranda Parham pitched in 12 points and 7 rebounds. The fourth quarter for Mount Olive offensively sealed the game. The Trojans outscored Erskine by 11 in the second half. The Fleet shot 37.7% from the field for the game, and Mount Olive shot 41.7%. The glaring statistic for the game was the 0-10 mark from three-point land for Erskine.
The Fleet look to rebound next Wednesday when they travel to Tigerville, SC to take on North Greenville. The game time is set for 5:30.
