Clayton, GA-- Freshman Jake Lochstampfor scored his first career goal 1:29 into his first collegian match but it would not be enough as the Clayton State Men's Soccer Team scored three unanswered goals Thursday night to defeat Erskine, 3-1, in the season opener for both teams. The match was delayed more than hour due to to storms in the Atlanta area. Following Lochstampfor's early goal the Lakers evened the match on a goal by Avery Shepard at 21:30. The teams went to half tied at 1-1. Clayton then scored two second half goals in a period of eight seconds 20 minutes into the second stanza to produce the final margin. Erskine (0-1) returns to Clayton on Saturday to battle USC-Aiken at 5 pm.
