DUE WEST--- The Erskine men's soccer team rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to tie Francis Marion with 12 minutes remaining but the Patriots responded with a goal at 78:49 to defeat the Fleet, 3-2, on Wednesday night. Erskine sophomore Alex Waldthausen scored his first goal of the year moments into the 2nd half to cut the Patriots lead to 2-1. Thirty-two minutes later (77:45) junior Cameron Whitehurst pounded home the game tying goal on an assist by freshman Jake Lochstampfor. Just over a minute later Francis Marion's Sven Ricke took a direct kick from 25 yards out on the left wing that flew over the top of Erskine goalie CJ Cluck. The loss drops Erskine to 3-5-2 on the season as they prepare for a huge conference match-up at home on Saturday against Limestone.
