DUE WEST-- 2nd half goals by freshman Mateo Laredo and senior Ross Henderson led Erskine to a huge non-conference win over arch-rival Anderson, 2-1, in men' s soccer action on Tuesday night. The Fleet responded from a 1-0 halftime deficit at 11:47 into the 2nd half when junior Cameron Whitehurst headed the ball right in front of the Trojan net for Laredo to finish off for his first career goal. At 68:55 the Fleet got the game winner from Henderson when he headed in a beautiful cross from freshman Jake Lochstampfor. The two teams battled evenly most of the night. Both teams managed nine shots. Erskine freshman goalie CJ Cluck made five saves on the night. The win not only improved Erskine to 4-6-2 on the season but gave the Fleet their second Beville Cup point of the fall. Momentarily Erskine leads the Beville Cup at 2-1.
