Box Score Due West, S.C. – On Senior Night, Erskine (13-12, 8-9) forced the Belmont Abbey Crusaders into overtime before falling 83 to 77 in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action at Belk Arena.
The Flying Fleet trailed the entire second half, sometimes by double-digits, until the final two minutes of regulation.  With two minutes remaining, junior Tara Potter rolled to the basket as freshman point guard 
Raygon Hendrix (Summerville, SC, Pinewood Preparatory School) delivered a pass to her for an easy basket to tie the game at 63 to 63.
Both teams had a chance in the final minute to win the game, but neither team could score the go ahead basket, forcing overtime.
In overtime the Abbey's Morgan Midkiff scored ten consecutive points to put the Abbey up by six with just over a minute remaining.  After missing on their next possession, the Fleet were forced to foul.  The Abbey converted six of eight free throws down the stretch to win the game 83 to 77.
Erskine's front court duo of 
Tara Potter (Charlotte, NC, Bandys High School) and 
Naomi Stuger (Marietta, GA, Kell High School) both finished with a double-double on the night.  Stuger led the Fleet with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Potter, who was in foul trouble most of the game, finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Hendrix contributed 10 points and 7 assists.  Sophomore 
Andrienne Bannerman (Wilmington, NC, Pender High School) came off the bench to score 10 points.
The Crusaders were led by Midkiff's game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Teammate McKenzie Owen chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds.
After the game, Erskine recognized the contributions of their three graduating seniors to the program.
Erskine hosts Pfeiffer University on Thursday in a game rescheduled from February 12
th.  Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
