Four for the Fleet, down NGU 71 to 66

Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (6-4, 2-1) extended their win streak to four games, downing the Crusaders of North Greenville University (4-7, 0-3) 71 to 66 this afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action at Belk Arena.

After falling behind by as many as ten points in the first period, Erskine trimmed the lead to just two points by intermission then scored the second half's first seven points to take the lead they would never relinquish.

Freshman Kristin Giles (Union, SC, Union County High School) led the Fleet with a game-high 21 points and 7 rebounds.   Fellow freshmanAshley Mull (Belmont, NC, South Point High School) provided a spark off the bench scoring a career-high17 points with 6 rebounds while junior Andrienne Bannerman (Wilmington, NC, Pender High School) was a rebound shy of double-double with 11 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.  Meanwhile, freshman point guard Raygon Hendrix (Summerville, SC, Pinewood Preparatory School) handed out a career-high 9 assists and had 5 steals.  

The Crusaders had four players reach double-figures, led by Alisha Hope's double-double of 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Erskine will travel to Banner Elk, North Carolina to play the Bobcats of Lees-McRae on Wednesday.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
