Erskine tops Pfeiffer 80-78

Box Score Misenheimer, N.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (10-5, 5-2) topped the Falcons of Pfeiffer University (2-13, 1-6) 80 to 78 for their first win in Misenheimer since 2008 in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action at Merner Gym.  It is the fourth win in a row for the Flying Fleet.

For the second straight game, Erskine won the game in the final minute.  Erskine converted two of four free throws in the final twenty seconds to seal the victory.  Leading by two points after a 3-pointer by Ashley Mull (Belmont, NC, South Point High School), Pfeiffer missed a three point attempt for the lead and was forced to foul.  Erskine's Haleigh Spaulding (Ocala, FL, Vanguard High School) made one of two free throws to stretch the lead to three points.  On the ensuing inboards play, Pfeiffer's Alexis Staddard threw a full-court pass to teammate Carter Williams for a quick layup to cut the Fleet lead to a point.  After another Pfeiffer foul, Erskine's Andrienne Bannerman (Wilmington, NC, Pender High School) made one of her two free throws and Marnasha Eugene (Lithonia, GA, Stephenson High School) stole the ensuing inboards pass to clinch the win.

FreshmanRaygon Hendrix (Summerville, SC, Pinewood Preparatory School) continued her torrid streak, scoring a game-high 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.  Hendrix has now tallied double-figures in her last six games.
