Porsha Morgan (Columbus, GA, LaGrange Academy)scored a team-high 15 points in a 58 to 48 losing effort against the Saints of Limestone College in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action at Belk Arena. The loss drops the Fleet to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in conference. Limestone remains unbeaten in conference play at 2-0 and 8-4 overall.

Rosa Powell (Lilburn, GA, Brookwood High School) scored 11 points and senior forward
Elizabeth Tatum (Glennville, GA, Pinewood Christian Academy) grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds.
For the Saints, Ashley Robinson came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points and pull down a team-high 7 rebounds. Maria Young and Tia Williams also scored 16 points each to help the Saints to the ten-point win.
Erskine closed out the first half on a 5-0 run to take a slim 25 to 23 lead into the locker room. Powell banked home a three point shot to tie the game at 23 each and freshman
Tishal Turknett (Martinez, GA, Lakeside High School) hit a short jumper after retrieving a long rebound off sophomore Lindsey Weidenaar’s missed three-point attempt to put the Fleet up by two at the half.
The second half remained tight until the midway point when Williams drilled a three-point basket to start a Saint 8-0 run that Erskine could not recover from. Young followed with another 3-point basket and Ashley Robinson capped off the run hitting a jump shot off a steal by Stephanie Hayes. Limestone won the game by 10 points 58 to 48.
Erskine stays at home for their second game of their three-game home stand as North Greenville University visits Belk Arena this Thursday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
