Erskine Women's Basketball goes pink for Play4Kay Day

Erskine Women’s Basketball Team invites everyone to wear pink for the Flying Fleet’s first annual Play 4Kay Day on February 11th against Pfeiffer University at 5:30 p.m.  The Fleet wish to pack Belk Arena in pink in honor of those who have battled or are battling breast cancer.

In addition, the Flying Fleet encourage and ask their fans to make a donation in support of cancer research by visiting www.play4kay.org/wbb_erskine or by going to the Erskine women’s basketball web page at www.erskineathletics.com.

Play 4Kay, formerly known as WBCA Pink Zone, is an initiative that allows a nation of coaches to raise awareness and funds for cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The official charity is the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The late Kay Yow, former NC State University head women's basketball coach, served as the catalyst for Play 4Kay after her third recurrence of breast cancer in 2006. Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, and passed away on January 24, 2009.

Join the Flying Fleet and make a donation in support of raising money for cancer research.  For more information about the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, please visit www.KayYow.com.
