Due West, SC - The Pfeiffer Falcons held off a late Erskine rally to take a 79-72 victory in the Conference Carolinas opener for both teams.
The Fleet put four players in double figures, led by Junior
Elizabeth Tatum (Glennville, GA, Pinewood Christian Academy) who scored 15 points. Junior
Porsha Morgan (Columbus, GA, LaGrange Academy) was next with 14 points and
Neci Allen (North Augusta, SC, North Augusta High School) added 13, while
Taylar Stewart (Hartwell, GA, Hart County High School) finished the game with 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
The Falcons were led by Brittany Cox who scored a game-high 27 points and matched Stewart's eight rebounds. Kia Rice was the second-leading scorer for Pfeiffer with 19 points, while Celeste Caudill added 11 points.
With the win Pfeiffer improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while Erskine falls to 0-4 and 0-1.
The Fleet return to action next Tuesday as the travel to Brevard to play the Tornados at 6:00 pm.
