Belmont, NC – The Lady Fleet (5-5 overall, 4-2 conference) could not overcome a hot shooting Belmont-Abbey team (5-6 overall, 3-3 conference) losing 56 to 80 in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action. Belmont-Abbey shot 50% on the evening, including (8 of 18) 44% from three point range. The Crusaders limited the Lady Fleet to just 35% shooting and only 2 of 15 (13%) from three point range. Erskine also only managed to shoot 59% (10 of 17) from the free throw line.
The Lady Fleet were lead by point guard Porsha Morgan with 22 points. Elizabeth Tatum and Audrey Timmerman both contributed 13 and 11 points respectively. Elizabeth Tatum also had a team high 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
Tonight’s loss snaps a three game win streak for the Lady Fleet.
Erskine returns home to play MountOliveCollege on Saturday. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
