Due West, SC – On Wednesday morning, Erskine baseball coach
Kevin Nichols announced the hiring of
Nathan Kilcrease as the new pitching coach for the Flying Fleet, after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama.
Nathan played four years for the Crimson Tide, where he holds numerous career records. He ranks first all-time with 88 career appearances, sixth all-time with 23 career wins, and seventh with 240 career strikeouts. Following his career at Alabama, the Oakland Athletics drafted Kilcrease in 2011. He played in both the Athletics organization and the Pittsburgh Pirates organizations before returning to Alabama in 2014 as a student assistant, completing his degree in human environmental sciences.
"We are extremely excited to be able to have someone with the playing and coaching experience that Nathan has joining our program. We think that his personality will fit in well with our program and he will do an outstanding job with our team. It also doesn't hurt to have another Crimson Tide guy on the staff," said Nichols.
Kilcrease replaces Atlee Pearson who recently took a position at Slippery Rock University.
