Erskine's Corin Hallman earns first-ever national ranking!

Due West, S.C. – Erskine’s Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) ended her tennis season on a seven-match win streak to finish the season ranked #49 in the national in singles competition.  It is the first time an Erskine women’s tennis player has achieved a national ranking.

Hallman also ended the season ranked #11 in the highly competitive Southeast Region in singles play.

Of her conference-best 17 singles victories, Hallman had four wins over regionally ranked opponents.  In the NCAA Regional Tournament, Hallman had won her first set against #18 nationally ranked Mona Blauen (FMU) before her match was suspended.  (FMU had won the necessary five points to win the match).

In her three loses, two of those loses came against national ranked foes.  BYU-Hawaii’s #2 ranked Annie Hwang beat Hallman 6-2, 6-2 while #33 ranked Susana Alcaraz of Northwood University edged her 2-6, 6-1, and 11-9 back on March 25th.  It was Hallman’s last loss of the season.  Her third loss was to Yasmin Doost of Gardner-Webb University, an NCAA Division I opponent.

Hallman was recently named the Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Conference.

As a team, Erskine (18-6) finished ranked #45 in the nation and #7 in the Southeast Region.
